Meet Dr. Howard
Oral Surgeon Joseph R. Howard, DDS, MD
Dr. Howard founded Central CT Oral Maxillofacial & Implant Surgery in 2010 and has been proudly serving the West Hartford community since then.
He is a board-certified oral maxillofacial surgeon.
He completed his oral surgery training and medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania and his dental degree from New York University. He holds active medical and dental licenses in the state of CT.
He prides himself on providing state-of-the-art care in a warm, comfortable, and safe environment. He treats his patients like they are his family. He has been recognized in CT Magazine’s Top Doctor issue every year since 2010.
Dr. Howard uses advanced opioid-free medications that are safe and effective for pain management. You can have 4 impacted wisdom teeth extracted or a mouth full of dental implants and not need narcotics.
We use the latest technology and tools, including virtual surgical planning and three-dimensional CT and intra-oral scans in the office to ensure our dental implant patients have successful outcomes. Dr. Howard has successfully placed 1000’s of dental implants.
Dr. Howard loves what he does and enjoys teaching and sharing his passion for oral surgery with the next generation of oral surgeons at the University of Connecticut’s oral maxillofacial surgery residency program where he is a clinical instructor.
Dr. Howard enjoys spending time with his wonderful wife at three amazing children. He is a hockey enthusiast playing competitively growing up and is now the head coach of a local youth travel hockey team. He played 4 years of Division 1 college tennis in the Big East conference at Rutgers University.
